Report: Oakland Coliseum has another round of plumbing problems

The Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, home stadium of the Raiders and Athletics, is reportedly again dealing with some plumbing problems.

According to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, sewage flooded the Oakland Athletics’ coaches bathroom on Saturday. A team official said heavy rain was the cause, Slusser reported.

Per the Chronicle, Athletics catcher Kurt Suzuki said that sewage was even flowing out of the faucets for a time.

This is the second plumbing-related issue that the A’s have dealt with this week. On Tuesday, sewage reportedly made its way into the home dugout.

The Raiders play at Denver on Monday night. They next play at the Coliseum on Sept. 29, when they host Washington.

The Raiders’ lease at the Coliseum ends after the 2013 season.

Maybe the Raiders will move back to LA (the LA Coliseum, temporarily at least).

Please end the joke that is the Raiders in Oakland. The fanbase and franchise deserve a mega stadium in Los Angeles with a massive crowd packed in each week.

I bet the Nation itself could make up whatever the local government won’t pay.

So the shipp ain’t just out on the field, huh?

and here I thought all sewage pipes emptied into Maryland…

  8. thegreatgabbert says: Sep 21, 2013 4:22 PM

Heavy rains washed the sewage covering the city to the ground. On the bright side, pilots can see now.

    Welcome… to the brown hole.

  10. humb0lt says: Sep 21, 2013 4:24 PM

The Amazing A’s deserve better than being stuck in a stadium that overflows sewage and having to share a facility with a football team that also stinks.

Crap in the locker rooms….crap on the field.

Perfect scenario for a perfect bunch of crap fans.

I bet everywhere Jamarcus Russell goes, this problem follows. He couldn’t read a defense, but he can read “restroom”.

  15. steviaquinn says: Sep 21, 2013 5:18 PM

It could be worse, try avoiding bum poop when walking the streets of San Francisco.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers recently had a problem with a tenacious bout of staph infections.

What godawful diseases would water faucets spewing sewage bring to people in Oakland’s decrepit stadium?

  17. thegreatgabbert says: Sep 21, 2013 5:41 PM

Before all the jokesters out there get started, according to the latest census surveys only 27.3% of the sewage actually came from a Black Hole.

  18. nomoreseasontix says: Sep 21, 2013 5:48 PM

It’s not remotely possible for sewage to be flowing from the faucets.
    Not even a little …

  19. duncanthecat says: Sep 21, 2013 6:07 PM

The City of Oakland deserves this cesspool. If you ever get a chance to experience a Raider game. The fans appear to have come out of rat holes. Most I assume are on food stamps.

  20. giantssb42champs says: Sep 21, 2013 6:10 PM

It will blend with the sewage on the field from 1-4pm each Sunday.

Where’s Jonah Hill when you need him to figure out a way through statistical analysis to keep the crap from flowing back up the drain? “Moneyball”

  24. jetsjetsjetsnow says: Sep 21, 2013 6:43 PM

Crap coming out of faucets!!!? Now that is some serious nasty!! Now l’d never wash my face or brush my teeth in those sinks again!!!!?

  25. kenstabler says: Sep 21, 2013 7:13 PM

    Dumbbolt says “I’m a troll”.

The Chargers go 8-8 this year, no playoffs, because no defense. I put money on this.

The Raiders look like they are finally crawling out of the brown hole.

The Chargers look like they are about to begin the decent into one. The book to read for charger fans at the end of the year “Cry me a Rivers, where’s my ring”.

The chargers are two years behind the Raiders in the rebuilding process.

Smell that troll, your team will suck more than mine, you will see. Raiders 28 SD trolls 13 two weeks from this Sunday.

They might want to change their name to the Oakland Browns.

  27. mackcarrington says: Sep 21, 2013 8:07 PM

  29. braceyourselffor12 says: Sep 21, 2013 8:17 PM

    @ steviaquinn

Way to deflect attention of the problem by casting stones at the City by the Bay.

But you’re right Oakland has us beat there … not only do you have to avoid bum poop in OAK but crack heads, muggings and the hourly drive by.

    Oakland is Mogadishu West.

  30. darkneptune73 says: Sep 21, 2013 9:44 PM

How can any Raider fan defend this? It’s a problem that can only be fixed by getting a new stadium and good luck with that.

  31. greg2geez says: Sep 22, 2013 4:24 AM

Sure we’ve all seen how much better Denver handles heavy rain.

  32. raiders4life says: Sep 23, 2013 10:25 AM

Oakland’s Stadium makes the LA Colisium look like a modern state of the art facility. Look for the Raiders to be in Los Angeles come 2014 as I’m sure they’ll work a deal to move into the future Farmers Field adjacent to Staples Center.
