Dan Williams inactive after father dies in car accident

The Cardinals had an unexpected and very unhappy addition to their inactive list for Sunday’s game against the Saints.

Defensive tackle Dan Williams, who was downgraded to questionable Saturday because of a family matter, will not play after receiving word that his father was killed in a car accident this weekend. Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports that Williams’ father and other family members were driving from their home in Memphis to New Orleans to see Williams and his teammates play when they got into the accident.

Williams’ mother and sister were also in the car, but Somers reports that they survived the crash. No further details about the accident are available at present.

The thoughts and condolences of everyone at PFT are with Williams and his family.
