DeMarco Murray likes playing the Rams

Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray had his breakout game in 2011 against the Rams when he ran for 253 yards and a touchdown in the first extended playing time of his NFL career.

Murray hasn’t been quite that productive on Sunday, but he’s been more than good enough to lead the Cowboys to a comfortable 17-0 halftime lead. Murray has run the ball 16 times for 96 yards and a touchdown as the Cowboys have put their actions behind their words about a stronger committment to the run. Murray has added three catches for 28 more yards for good measure and Dez Bryant has also caught a touchdown pass.

The Rams had not surrendered a sack in the first two weeks of the season, but their line has let them down on Sunday. They’ve allowed three sacks of Sam Bradford and the Rams have gained just 18 net yards in a half that also included an incomplete pass by Johnny Hekker on a fake punt.

Another 30 minutes of the same and the Cowboys will be by themselves in first place in the NFC East.
