Eddie Lacy inactive for Packers

Packers rookie running back Eddie Lacy, who did not practice this week after suffering a concussion in Week Two, is inactive for Sunday’s game at CIncinnati, the club said.

James Starks will start for Lacy, the club disclosed. The Packers will have just two backs active against the Bengals — Starks and rookie Johnathan Franklin. Also, fullback John Kuhn is inactive.

A second-round pick from Alabama, Lacy has rushed for 51 yards on 15 carries and has caught one pass for 31 yards in his first two NFL regular-season games.

Get healthy, dude. You’ll have at least 6 monster games this season within the division.

Kuhn being out is a bigger deal than it might seem. He’s the guy the Packers trust completely for pass protection. Their next best option is Lacy. With both of those two down, get ready to see Andrew Quarless or Ryan Taylor lined up in the backfield in one-back looks. Neither TE will run the ball but both are much better options for protecting Rodgers than Starks or Franklin, their only 2 active RBs.

Let’s hope Franklin has a great break-out day!

And just think… Gerbschmidt said that Eddie Lacy is a better running back than Peterson the other day on Barriero. Gerby….. To be a better running back you need to be on the field!
