The Bills came into Sunday’s game with the Jets down two cornerbacks.

They’re down three before the end of the first quarter. Leodis McKelvin left the game with a hamstring injury in the first quarter and the Bills announced he will not return. His departure leaves Jim Leonhard to return punts and leaves a thin Bills secondary with even less meat on its bones.

How much of a problem that will be is largely up to Geno Smith. He ran the ball in from eight yards out to cap a game-opening 12-play, 80-yard touchdown drive and he’s connected for some nice gains with Stephen Hill and Santonio Holmes. The Jets have punted twice after scoring, however, and Smith’s missed some throws that would have kept drives alive.

Still, the Jets lead 7-0 after the first quarter and they’ve given up almost nothing on the defensive side of the ball to this point in the contest.
