Panthers throttling Giants 17-0 at halftime

In any other stadium, you’d assume the home team is ready to cruise with a 17-0 halftime lead.

But the Panthers have built a reputation for making such games interesting, so there’s no reason for them to think they’re anywhere near safe.

They’re frankly pummeling the Giants in every way, limiting them to 18 yards and two first downs. The Panthers have six sacks at halftime, with Greg Hardy collecting three of those.

They’re playing cleanly on the other side of the ball as well, as Cam Newton capped a late drive with a touchdown pass to Brandon LaFell for the three-score margin.

The Giants continue to shoot themselves in the foot, with a missed field goal, and a David Wilson touchdown taken off the board because of a penalty.

They’ve also lost fullback Henry Hynoski for the rest of the game with a shoulder injury, such that they’re going to be in a power-running mode the rest of the way.
