Tyrann Mathieu hauls in first regular-season interception

After scoring on their first possession, the Cardinals’ offense hasn’t tallied any more points against the Saints.

However, the Cardinals’ defense bought their offense a little more time courtesy of a third-quarter interception from safety Tyrann Matheu, who intercepted Drew Brees in the endzone.

This is the second turnover Mathieu has forced in three NFL regular-season games. He forced a fumble recovered in the endzone by teammate Karlos Dansby in the Cardinals’ Week One defeat at St. Louis.

The Cardinals trail 17-7 in the third quarter at New Orleans.

Anyone who watched this young man at LSU knew what he could bring to a defense. So glad to see he’s living up to his full potential as a pro defensive back. Kudos for Arizona for taking a chance on him!

Vegaskid it’s losers like you who want to see guys keep failing. Why not root for someone who is trying to change their life around?

Tyrann has great ball awareness and skills, better than most. It was proven today and will be on many other occasions. With Peterson as a mentor, he is in the best place, under the best conditions, he can be. He was so often around the ball today, making tackles, etc.

Many are calling the Arizona Cardinals, LSU SW. I know many LSU fans are following the Cardinals now.
