The heavily favored Broncos were expected to have an easy time beating the Raiders at home on Monday night. The first quarter went according to plan.
Peyton Manning directed a long drive that ended in a touchdown pass to Eric Decker on the Broncos’ first possession, and Denver kicker Matt Prater booted a 53-yard field goal, as the Broncos took an early 10-0 lead.
The Raiders’ offense couldn’t do much of anything. Oakland’s first three drives went three-and-out, and the Raiders didn’t manage a first down until quarterback Terrelle Pryor ran for 23 yards in the final minute of the first quarter.
It’s not all good news for Denver, as cornerback Tony Carter limped off the field after hurting his ankle on a special teams play. But injuries aside, this looks like it’s going to be an easy night in Denver.
