Raiders place David Ausberry on injured reserve

The Raiders put tight end David Ausberry on injured reserve Monday, the club said.

To replace Ausberry on the 53-player roster, the Raiders promoted rookie offensive guard Lamar Mady from the practice squad.

A third-year pro from USC, Ausberry suffered a shoulder injury in the preseason. He caught nine passes for 106 yards in his first two NFL seasons.

Mady, an undrafted free agent from Youngstown State, gives the Raiders a little more depth along the interior of the offensive line. Starting left guard Lucas Nix is questionable with an ankle injury for tonight’s game at Denver. If he can’t play on Monday night, Andre Gurode will start, with Antoine McClain likely to be the top backup inside.

Mady had a solid preseason, and was glad to see that he cleared waivers, and was able to be signed to the practice squad….. He might get a shot…. needs to spend a little more time working with the strength coach.
