Brandon Flowers still dealing with knee inflammation

Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers left Thursday’s victory over the Eagles a little early because of a sore knee that caused him to be listed as questionable on the team’s final injury report last week and things didn’t improve all that much over the weekend.

Flowers didn’t practice with his teammates on Monday because of the inflammation in his knee and coach Andy Reid said that the team isn’t sure when the cornerback will be back up to speed.

“It’s a day-to-day thing,” Reid said, via Adam Teicher of “It’s just a matter of him getting through it. He’s trying. The kid is so stinking tough. We want to make sure it’s right and he can function out there at the speed he functions at. He plays that position where you’ve got to go. You’re going against guys that can really go.┬áHe wants to be out there. It’s ripping his heart out that he’s not.”

The Chiefs are back at work earlier than other teams around the league because they played last Thursday night, leaving Flowers plenty of time to move in the right direction before a decision has to be made about his status for the Week Four game against the Giants. If he can’t go, that would be a benefit to the Giants passing game as long as their offensive line can figure out a way to stop defenders from hammering Eli Manning.

But, all the Philly fans said he was faking? I guess the Chiefs players really commit to it when they fake an injury. The Giants though, they are the only team to have 2 guys throw themselves on the ground in the end zone 10 seconds after the play, lol, in order to get an injury timeout (on national television no less). Hilarious!
