The Cardinals have taken another hit on defense.

Linebacker Alex Okafor, a rookie fourth-round draft pick who was expected to become a starter this week, has instead been lost for the season.

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians told Alex Marvez and Bill Polian on SiriusXM NFL Radio that Okafor has suffered a torn biceps tendon and will miss the rest of the season.

Okafor is the third outside linebacker the Cardinals have lost for the season this week, as Lorenzo Alexander and Sam Acho were both also placed on injured reserve. The one piece of good news for the Cardinals is that linebacker Daryl Washington will be eligible to return from suspension next week. They’re going to need Washington to be ready to contribute immediately.
