When Peyton Manning’s nearly perfect, as he was last night, it creates a huge opportunity for his teammates.

It also provides more than a little pressure, to not be the guy that screws it up.

Manning was 32-of-37 passing last night, an 86.5 percent completion rate that was a career-high for him.

That made the three touchdowns and 37-21 win over the Raiders seem anticlimactic, he was so precise.

It’s definitely not easy,” tight end Julius Thomas said, via Joan Niesen of the Denver Post. “I just think it speaks to our preparation, working hard, getting ready for the game. Being able to come out and execute, it’s not something that just happens automatically.”

All five of Manning’s incompletions hit the hands of a teammate, so ostensibly, it can get better, even though he had a streak of 15 straight completions.

“I don’t even pay attention to it,” wide receiver Wes Welker said of the streak of completions. “I’m just out there playing, and obviously he’s going to make the right choices and make the right throws. And I’m just happy to be a part of it.”

Most pass-catchers would, although there’s a responsibility that comes with it as well.
