After losing three linebackers this week for the season to various injuries, the Arizona Cardinals are looking to their practice squad for able bodies that can play this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

According to Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com and Sirius XM NFL radio, the Cardinals are promoting linebacker Kenny Demens from the practice squad.

The Cardinals placed Lorenzo Alexander (Lisfranc) and Sam Acho (broken leg) on injured reserve Monday after suffering injuries in Arizona’s loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. They took another hit Tuesday as head coach Bruce Arians said rookie Alex Okafor is also going to miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn biceps.

The Cardinals had already signed Vic So’oto and promoted Dontay Moch from the practice squad to fill the losses of Alexander and Acho. Now they are forced to go to the well again after losing Okafor for the rest of the year.

Demens is an undrafted free agent out of the University of Michigan. He initially made the Cardinals 53-man roster before being let go when Arizona claimed Bradley Sowell and Alameda Ta’Amu off waivers following final cuts. He was then re-signed to the team’s practice squad.

Demens recorded six tackles with a pass defensed and a half sack in the preseason for Arizona.
