Giants adding fullback John Conner

John Conner AP

Pointing to the fact that fullback Henry Hynoski’s broken shoulder is likely season-ending, the Giants added another fullback today.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun, the Giants have agreed to terms with veteran John Conner.

Conner was a surprise cut by the Bengals this preseason, where he played last year after a three-year stint with the Jets.

The Giants need all the help they can get running the ball and protecting Eli Manning, and adding “The Terminator” is as much of a personnel step as you can take this time of year.

Glad to see this kid get another shot. Unfortunately it’s a dying position with the current offenses.

I loved this guy in preseason and I think the Bengals screwed up by letting him go. I hope he has a stellar year this year. Good luck, Terminator!

I think Eli will want John Conner located right beside him on every pass play. That may result in less receivers available to throw to but what choice do they have with all the sacks?

Did the Giants also add a two tackles, two guards, a center, two linebackers, a defensive end and two cornerbacks?

Fighting against “Skynet” might prove to have been an easier task than blocking the K.C pass rush.

That stinks, Hynoski worked so hard to get back on the field. Get well big fella, can’t wait to see you back on the field next season.

Signing Connor is a good move for the Giants with Hynoski probably done for the season. This guy is a very good fullback, the only reason he wasn’t signed is because majority of the NFL don’t use a fullback anymore.

People are crazy if they are looking at Mike Robinson. Seattle dropped him to go with youth but clearly our running game is lacking because he would take out linebackers or safeties. Not to mention he can catch the ball and sees the field like QB which is great for your RB.

Bengals didn’t need him. They just stick Peko in every time they need short yardage. He does fine

The Giants are now taking castoffs from the Jets. How the mighty have fallen.

I hope the Giants sign Kyle Reese next. Just in case…

I have been calling for GB to sign this guy since he was cut by the Bengals, I guess I can stop doing that now.
