Ray Rice practicing today, plans to play this week

The Ravens got through a week without running back Ray Rice, but they’re apparently not going to have to push their luck.

Rice told Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun he plans to practice today, and intends to play Sunday against the Bills, after missing last week’s game with a strained hip flexor.

Rice was injured late in the previous week’s game against the Browns, and backup Bernard Pierce ran often if not effectively (24 attempts for 65 yards) against the Texans last week.

“Ray is getting better,” Pierce said. “Hopefully, he’ll be out there with us Sunday.”

Having the pair of them will help the run game, but Rice’s ability as a receiver also takes some of the pressure off a pass offense that is still very much finding its way.

Speaking of Sweet Pea, I think that should be Rice’s nickname.

    Fragile.

Missing his first game in his 6th year is fragile??? I don’t even know why I responded. If Ray Rice is “fragile”, then the Steelers running backs are broken in pieces.

Things are desperate when the second-best receiver on your team is your 5’8″ RB who’s worked til the wheels fall off. If only they had an A. Brown on their roster…..

We actually do. He was our 2nd Round draft pick. He’s an ILB #58 Arthur Brown.

funny…the team that has a brown is 0 and 3 and is 30th in the league in scoring

Steeler fans used to arrogantly dismiss that there was a rivalry between the Steelers and the Ravens, Now they feel the need to make nasty, uninteresting and unimaginative comments on every Ravens post.

The Ravens won the SB and will be SB champions until somebody else wins one. The Steelers have lost 2 home games, including one in the AFC North. They have drafted O-lineman high in the draft for 3 years and still have a crappy O-line. If it wasn’t for Ben, they would be nothing, and yet they have taken to denigrating him at every turn. They are the worst fans in the league: spoiled by past successes.

    ingraven – while I agree with you…Brown is #59. Dumervil is #58.

How in the hell can steeler fans be talking smack? Ravens 2-1 and improving every week. steelers 0-3 and looking old and tired. Ben won’t make it thru the season, which is actually a good thing for the steelers cause the guy is done. That team needs a major rebuild.

As a follow-up to IngRaven’s post, Hey, Crown, by the time our A. Brown’s career is over, say around 2028, you’ll rue the day you ever heard of him. He will spend the next 15 years ripping and sacking Steelers RBs and QBs some of whom are still playing Pop Warner

Whoa skippy…your short term homer memory has erased the hate thrown towards Jump Ball Joe before the turn around last year. I know I know Raven rules…..most hypocritical fans in the world are raven fans such as yourself.. Don’t preach to the choir ….lol smh

It’s good news that Rice is returning. D.Thompson and Canty too. As far as arguing with steeler fans…. What’s the point? Ignore their comments. Maybe they’ll go away.

  16. jacktheraven says: Sep 25, 2013 2:43 PM

I forgot to mention. Arthur Brown returned to practice too. Ravens are getting healthier.

  17. jacktheraven says: Sep 25, 2013 2:45 PM

@rustbelt. Joe is elite. His WINS puts him in that category. Bringing up 3 game stats make you look foolish.
