Reports out of Dallas earlier this week said that the hamstring injury suffered by wide receiver Miles Austin last weekend was not as serious as the ones that plagued him over the last two seasons.

That doesn’t mean that he’ll be able to play in Week Four against the Chargers, however. Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that Austin did not participate in Cowboys practice on Thursday, making him 0-for-2 on practices this week. Austin’s history with hamstring injuries means that the Cowboys are going to be cautious with Austin in terms of practice, but it also means they’ll likely be wary of the possibility of recurrence after seeing it happen the last two years.

Austin isn’t the only ailing wideout. Dwayne Harris thought he would be able to practice on Thursday after missing Wednesday’s session with a hip injury, but he joined Austin on the sideline.

The Chargers have struggled in pass defense this season, so the Cowboys should be able to create opportunities through the air whether it is Austin and Harris in the lineup or if Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley are running alongside Dez Bryant.
