Bears expected to sign Landon Cohen

The Bears have apparently settled on a roster replacement for injured defensive tackle Henry Melton, even though it will be hard for any committee of players to replace his value.

According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, the Bears brought Landon Cohen in for a workout Tuesday, and are expected to sign him when he returns to Chicago today.

Melton tore his ACL Sunday night against the Steelers.

Cohen played for Bears defensive coordinator Mel Tucker in Jacksonville, and the scheme he was running in Dallas this year under Rod Marinelli is compatible with what the Bears are doing now.

Cohen has also been with the Patriots, Eagles, Cardinals and Seahawks.

Cohen was originally a Detroit Lion, too…

Upon first reading the headline I though, “Hallelujah.” But then I saw it was Landon not Leonard.

    “Avril is a Seahawk…”

    …and Suh is overrated.

I might be more excited about this if Cohen hadn’t bounced around so much.

Might be a good move. put him on a good defense next to good players and he will get it in his head
    to play like a star.

Cohen played well for Dallas in the preseason and they need depth at DT so I’m a little surprised to see them let him go.

Chicago has a good D-line without Melton so give this guy a chance. Chicago is known for defense and he might go out and play lights out
to make a name for his self.
