Texans expect Andre Johnson to start on Sunday

All week, the Texans have been calling wide receiver Andre Johnson a game-time decision because of his shin injury but things have taken a positive turn with the game against the Seahawks a couple of days away.

Tania Ganguli of ESPN.com reports that coach Gary Kubiak said Friday that Johnson had a strong practice and that he expects to have the wideout in the starting lineup.

There was no talk about limiting Johnson’s snaps, so it would appear that the plan is also for him to play a full workload. That should mean matchups with both Brandon Browner and Richard Sherman over the course of the afternoon in Houston.

Left tackle Duane Brown’s outlook isn’t quite as clear. He didn’t practice on Friday after getting in limited work earlier in the week and he’s still being termed a game-time decision. Brown missed last week’s loss to the Ravens with the toe injury that has continued to trouble him this week.

  1. Oh, sure, they’re getting everyone healthy, and Carroll said a while ago that not only will we be without Okung, we’ll also be without Giacomini and Unger as well, meaning, we’re bringing 40 percent of our starting O-line to the party, and minus two Pro-Bowlers.

Thank God we have a mobile QB, because we’re going to need him against Watt, Cushing, and company. Major defensive battle upcoming in this one.

  2. Yeah… this is going to be a 13-17 kind of game that’s no fun to watch… so of course I’m going to spend my hard earned money on a ticket…. :/

Good to hear Andre will be out there for us….

  3. That’s actually good for the Seashawks that you’re missing 40% of your o-line because that enables Gary Kubiak to be so conservative he punts the damn ball every 1st down. He’s such an arrogant prick he’s going to gift wrap the game for you. Your welcome I guess.

  4. Ugh, I was nervous about JJ Watt playing again Breno….now i feel sick to my stomach knowing hes gonna be going up against a rookie…just hope its painless and RW escapes without an injury. 13-9 Seahawks.

  5. Doesn’t matter what the Texans do, the Seahawks are going to kick ass because of the Texans inept offense, QB and HC. 45-14 Seattle. Being realistic, I do hope the Texans win, but their just not as good as they were in 2011.
