Schaub plays the Texans into overtime

Chris Clemons, Matt Schaub AP

The heat on Matt Schaub is rising by the week.

The Texans dominated the early stages of the game, but allowed the Seahawks to tie the game with 2:40 left, when Schaub was picked off by Richard Sherman, who returned it 58 yards for a touchdown.

It was the third straight game Schaub has thrown a pick-six, and his last chance at redemption in regulation ended with a sack.

They’re now tied at 20, and Schaub will get the first chance in overtime after the Texans won the toss.

Matt Schaub sucks. It’s like the story of the Vikings around the Favre era. Just a QB short of a dominant team.

Screw this. I’m done with him. If it could work cap wise (doubtful), I’d be willing to roll the dice on Josh Freeman for the rest of the season. This guys has every weapon at his disposal, but has no heart. You can see the tears in his eyes.

Only Neil O’Donnell, errrrr, Mat Schaub and Gary Kubiak can choke away a 17 point lead

This has to be Scaub’s last kick at the can, no more excuses for him.

    Inexcusable mistake by Schaub.

He’s hurt the Texans badly this year, time to move on!

The Texans are about to implode. Everybody’s going to see a Locker Room Division, between the Offense and Defense, then Kubiak will lose the Team. The Texans aren’t going anywhere until Schaub is replaced or him and Kubiak are gone. The Colts are the best team in the AFC South.

I don’t think Schaub played the Texans into overtime. I think it’s more like Schaub played the Seahawks into overtime.

    BOOOOOM! Go hawks!!!!!

Sherm is hands down the best corner in the NFL!!

Seattle has so many people that hate this team with no knowledge. Missing 3 offensive lineman today down 17 points at the half and they come back and get an overtime win on defense and Wilson making plays. What a gritty win, love this kind of football. Go Hawks!

Texans fan here, this guy is just a guy.

And plays himself out of a job. Post game when he takes the blame, it’s all on him.

Horrible, foolish, silly play. You get 16 of them Schaub. You can completely blame yourself for losing one of them.

That Pick 6 up 7 with 3 min left was pathetic. Is like he just doesn’t care when he throws the ball. Also how many times can you get sacked on a bootleg before you stop? The texans gave this one away.

GET RID OF SCHAULOB!!!!!!!! CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW? GET RID OF HIM WHILE THE SEASON IS STILL EARLY. WHILE YOU’RE AT IT YOU MIGHT ADD KUBIAK TO THE LIST. HOW MUSCH MORE PROOF DO YOU KNEED THAT HE IS NOT THE QB TO LEAD THIS TEAM. CAN’T YOU SEE THE FRUSTRATION IN THE FACES OF THE PLAYERS? EVERYONE IS DOING THEIR BEST TO WIN BUT HOW IN THE HELL CAN YOU WIN WHEN THE QB IS TURNING THE BALL OVER TO THE OTHER TEAM. THAT DOESN’T HELP MORAL OR MOTOVATION. WAKE UP KUBIAK,YOU IDIOT.

Once again, Sherman backs up his words.
Fantastic win, but yeah, no idea what Schaub was doing…looked like post SB XL Hasslebeck on that decision to throw.

I don’t know if this game was indicative of Schaub’s play in general, but he is one of the worst quarterbacks I have ever seen when under pressure. When he is protected his mechanics are excellent, he throws a nice accurate ball, and he goes through his progressions. None of that is true when he encounters the least bit of pressure.

  17. thermalito says: Sep 29, 2013 5:02 PM

Schaub is an even worse version of Alex Smith. Actually, I’d take Alex Smith over Matt Schaub any day of the week

You guys that post here think that these comments are read by any of the Texans or coaches? I surely hope they do.

  19. thekingdave says: Sep 29, 2013 7:39 PM

    @rhstrat77055

GM Rick Smith reads PFT. But they’ve got Kubiak and Schaub’s back. They basically cannot cut Schaub for two more seasons without an enormous cap hit. It is what it is. It’s a shame, this team is so talented.

  20. vegasjack1 says: Sep 29, 2013 9:42 PM

And the Seattle game ball goes to (wait for it) Matt Schaub!

  21. rayvid says: Sep 29, 2013 11:10 PM

This one is on Kubiak’s terrible play calling and Schaub’s stupid decisions. First of all you don’t call for a pass in that situation, you run the ball. As for Schaub, you have to take the sack and punt…not hard! I am sick of this and someone need to go down for it. There is no excuse for losing when they dominate a game and one play undoes everything they worked so hard for.

I am fed up with Matt Schaub and would rather lose out trying to find out if Yates or Keenum can be a starter in this league rather than watch Schaub take even one more snap for this team. He needs to go and Kubiak needs to follow….. NOW!!!

  22. rayvid says: Sep 29, 2013 11:12 PM

    @thekingdave

Not true. This is the last year of guaranteed money on Schaub’s contract.

  23. rayvid says: Sep 30, 2013 9:34 AM

Josh Freemen, Matt Flynn GEEZ Tebow…..ANYONE but Schaub. We have to move on from this guy or we will continue to be the most talented team with no chance to win because of our QB.
