Texans handling Seahawks, Bennett carted off

Ben Tate, Bobby Wagner AP

The Texans might still have some issues, but at home, they’re still capable of being among the league’s best.

They’re controlling today’s game with the Seahawks, up 20-3 at halftime, handily winning the battle between the league’s top two defenses.

The news got worse for Seattle just before halftime, as defensive end Michael Bennett was carted off the field after getting his neck popped backward in a pile. He was taken off the field on a stretcher, but was moving his arms as he was taken off.

The Seahawks haven’t converted a third down yet, with 88 yards of total offense in the first half. Quarterback Russell Wilson has completed 60 percent of his passes, which sounds good, except he’s 3-for-5 through the air.

Coupled with a rare Marshawn Lynch fumble, the Texans defense is shutting down the Seahawks.

Meanwhile, Texans quarterback Matt Schaub is playing a subtle, effective game. They’re still leaning on the run game and safe passes to backs and tight ends, but even with an interception, he’s taking what is there, against a defense which had allowed 27 points in three games prior.

Typical road effort for Seattle. They are who we thought they were. Just another NFL team on the road.

    They’re getting dominated

Real teams are as good on the road as they are at home. O-ver-ra-ted

The Texans are kicking my Seahawks butts on both sides of the bcll but I have to say the Fans are 1st class. When Bennett went down not only could you see the concern but I could feel it and I’m watching it on TV. There was a shot of Bennett’s Dad in the stands trying desperately to find out what’s going on and then a Texans fan comes into screen and looks concerned and appears to be asking the camera to help this Dad get to his son. Amazing. My hat is off to the Texans and their Fans.

Some unfortunate breaks for Seattle that go into heir way at home. I expect the seahawks to come out pissed in the second half. Win a close one in a comeback. Missing 3 starting offensive lineman is killing then again Watt and Co.

But do give credit where do, their offense is taking advantage of our safeties, the tes on Houston are ballin, the seahawks have the wrs fairly covered. Physical half about to happen mark my words the seahawks will come out and enforce their will.

As much as I love the Hawks, I knew this one was gonna be a hard game for them.

Texans are playing a good offensive game with their play calling and intermediate passes. People will always say J.J Watt because he’s the big name the media know. But Brian Cushing is making a huge impact on this game. Wilson is going to be under pressure in the 2nd half but if its like other games Hawks will fight back in 2nd half. This hole they are in is huge. Texan fans are classy with the way they handled Bennett injury. Said that about you guys coming into this week

Obviously the O-Line injuries are killing us….

  9. atwatercrushesokoye says: Sep 29, 2013 2:53 PM

Glad to hear Bennett is okay. But now Seahawks fans tell us again about how you’re the best team in the league, no one can do anything against your D and how your road woes are a thing of the past…

Until Seattle hosts a Super Bowl and they play 16 games at home the Hawks are not a legitimate threat.

    @thefox61

Michael Bennett went to Alief Taylor in Houston and played at Texas A&M. We follow and support our own.

Seattle be OUTCLASSED in all phases but an average Texans team. Dave Schaub carving up that “elite” secondary? LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Makes sense. Seattle is a totally different team on the road.

Hey SheHawks fans……TIME TO DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Texans, thanks for bringing everybody back to reality. After the SheHawks dismantled us in Seattle two weeks ago, they were supposed to go 16-0. Everyone, this is the the NFL where anybody can be beat.

Some of you are so childish. You know what the end result of this is for the hawks? They won’t go undefeated, just like EVERY other NFL team this year. Buffalo beating Baltimore (at home) Detroit beating Chicago (at home) Tampa beating Arizona (at home) oh look, all home teams are winning except the jags, why? Because it’s hard to win on the road.

This is the first week after loosing an All pro center, pro bowl tackle Okung, and the opposite side tackle giacominni is out.

Seattle is missing 3 starting lineman and 2 of them are all pro caliber. They can’t block anyone and they can’t sustain a drive. Anyone on here hating is an ignorant person not knowing what’s going on.

  17. tinbender2000 says: Sep 29, 2013 3:16 PM

Raider fan living closer to Seattle than any other NFL team for a long, long time. Have family there, and used to root for them as a third team (behind Oregon). Seattle fans are so annoying this year I’m enjoying watching them lose. What a shame, wish they’d grow up a little :(

seadderall is getting crushed and now all of a sudden they want to talk about class and calming people down, and how they’re in love with texans fans, they’re down players and its TOUGH to win on the road…gee u think? ahahaha all i hear is waaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh…haha

If I’m not some of the hatters were from up North.

Two gifts on the road… Luck yes, but the bottom line is that you are undefeated on the road. I hate to say this, but you team never gave up, my team did against the Colts last week. Heck, it seemed like it after two back to back personal fouls.

Good job so far. We’ll see you in SF soon. Congrats on another very big win!

As for being a 49er fan in Austin, man that game was frustrating. I swear it was Tony Romo throwing that pick to Sherman when they were supposed to run the friggin ball.

    Texans thanks for nothing!

Oh Yea..NO 12TH man!!….So that Cant Be Used Anymore! What Was That 9erSince85? Repeat That Please! ……..GO HAWKS!!!!

  23. inwilsonwetrust says: Sep 29, 2013 5:49 PM

Sometimes football actually goes 4 quarters (and then some). Eat your words “9erssince85″! These are not the ’80′s Niners ladies and these are not the 80′s Seahawks either. Show some respect!

You gotta love all the HATE coming the Seahawks way…remember you don’t win the game in the 1st qtr, you don’t win the game in the 2nd qtr, you don’t win the game in the 3rd qtr and sometimes you don’t win the game in the 4th qtr!!!! FOUR & O baby!!!!!!

  28. salistala says: Sep 30, 2013 4:09 PM

To the 49ers that hate on the Seahawks a gift. Something to sustain the positive animosity between our two teams until we meet again at Candlestick Park in December.

We have gift-wrapped an enraged JJ Watt for you, hellbent on destroying anyone on the turf from now on. If Cushing is well enough to take to the field that’s just a bonus.

    You’re welcome.
