Titans reportedly fielding offers for Kenny Britt

Titans Colts Football AP

Wide receiver Kenny Britt recently shared that he feels this will be his last year with the Titans because the team is treating him the same way they treated tight end Jared Cook before Cook left as a free agent during the offseason.

Britt may not even see out the year, however. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Titans are fielding trade offers for Britt and that they are open to dealing him before the league’s trade deadline on October 29.¬†Schefter adds that the Titans aren’t actively shopping Britt, but they don’t really need to if they are both open to dealing him and hearing from teams that would be interested in acquiring him.

Britt, the 30th overall pick of the 2009 draft, has had a rough first three weeks this season. He’s dropped passes, fractured a rib and seen rookie Justin Hunter get playing time ahead of him on the game-winning drive last weekend. He has five catches for 43 yards overall, continuing a downward trend in his career that started with a serious knee injury early in the 2011 season.

With Britt struggling on the field and headed for free agency, it’s hard to imagine the Titans receiving all that much in a trade. Given how quickly Britt seems to be falling out of the Titans’ plans, however, the prospect of any return might be enough for Tennessee to wind up making a deal.

Born and raised in Jersey, went to Rutgers. Seems like a good fit for the Jets.

belichick likes rutgers guys for some reason. our roster is full of mediocre scarlet knights. why not take a chance on one with actual starting talent.

Every other team could really use a talent like Britt, but is anyone really gonna bring him in knowing his arrest record and his knack for getting in trouble? He’ll be on a short leash on any other team

The Pats will probably land him!

Britt for Leshoure makes a ton of sense for both sides.

I might give up an seventh round pick and throw in an old eight track tape player for this chump. He is not only a trouble making loose cannon, he is hurt all he time. He will now begin learning the logical consequences of the real world that he SHOULD have learned many years ago, yet, like SO many players before him, chose to ignore on his way to wreck and ruin. Luckily TO and Chad will be there to show him the way to the poor house.

Even with Shonn Greene injured, trading for Leshoure makes no sense for Tennessee.

He would be a great fit in SF.
