The Redskins got to go into their bye with a win under their belt after beating the Raiders on Sunday, but they got a scare on the way when running back Alfred Morris left the game with a rib injury.
It doesn’t look like it will wind up dumping any rain on their parade, however. After the game, Morris said, via Chris Russell of ESPN 980, that his ribs were bruised and not broken and that he was feeling fine. Coach Mike Shanahan said he didn’t know any exact diagnosis or timetable for Morris’ return.
“Alfred’s ribs are a little sore right now,” Shanahan said, via Mike Jones of the Washington Post. “I don’t know how serious it is, but we’ll wait and see on that.”
Morris picked up 71 yards on 16 carries before getting hurt. It sounds like Morris should be back on the field against the Cowboys in Week Six if he avoids any setbacks, something that should be easier to do with a little time off.
