Alfred Morris says ribs are just bruised

AP

The Redskins got to go into their bye with a win under their belt after beating the Raiders on Sunday, but they got a scare on the way when running back Alfred Morris left the game with a rib injury.

It doesn’t look like it will wind up dumping any rain on their parade, however. After the game, Morris said, via Chris Russell of ESPN 980, that his ribs were bruised and not broken and that he was feeling fine. Coach Mike Shanahan said he didn’t know any exact diagnosis or timetable for Morris’ return.

“Alfred’s ribs are a little sore right now,” Shanahan said, via Mike Jones of the Washington Post. “I don’t know how serious it is, but we’ll wait and see on that.”

Morris picked up 71 yards on 16 carries before getting hurt. It sounds like Morris should be back on the field against the Cowboys in Week Six if he avoids any setbacks, something that should be easier to do with a little time off.

  1. The softest team in the league scrapes by the pathetic Raiders. The Fraud is going to be abused morbidly by the Indian populations favorite team, Americas new favorite team, and the team ghat will fominate yhe next dozen years…….. Thee Kansas City Chiefs.
The beatdown KC will inflict on the soft, racist team will be gruesome.

  2. Called TYPO, but thank you for your spell check comment of the day. That is all that you have going for you when your team is pathetic with a fraud at QB.

    4-0>1-3. LoLOLOLol
Chiefs was chosen with class and respect in mind, unlike the racist name that is only adored by classless fans of a classless team.

Andy Reid STILL owns the NFC East
    Hahahahahahahaha

You mean like that 1-5 record he had against the division in ’12?

  4. @ Smarterthanyou:

Please explain to me why George Preston Marshall, a bigot if ever there was one, would name his professional sports franchise using a racial slur for a group of people he would have undoubtedly despised. You know, because they aren’t white and all.

Class and respect? Then please explain the stereotypical “warchant” I heard the crowd doing yesterday, and why that is not racist. All you were missing was the “tomahawk chop”.

    Oh, one more thing:
    Washington Redskins: 5 NFL Championships.
Kansas City Chiefs: 0 NFL Championships.
    5>0.

But hey, thanks for beating up on the hapless Giants; I truly enjoyed that.

  5. Living in the past is cute, but sad. Judging by the comments posted, I can tell the lame racist fans here were not even born yet when the last “championship” was won.
Because if they were, the clown would at least known about the Chiefs Lombardi trophy.

Logicalvoices sounds like a genius compared to these tools

I was truly hoping to be the first to let these buffoons know that the Chiefs do indeed have a SuperBowl win.

    What a pair.

  7. PARITY….

ALL NFL TEAMS ARE AWESOME AND SUCK! AND WE SHOULD THANK THE COMMISH/NFLPA/FREE AGENTS FOR MAKING IT THIS AWESOME.

  8. I don’t know why it is relevant to compare the Redskins and the Chiefs, but if anyone wants to compare:

    Redskins
    5 league titles

    Chiefs
    4 league titles

Neither team has won a league title in more than 20 years. The Redskins have been around a lot longer, so the Chiefs have won league titles more often.

  9. Chiefs finally don’t suck for the first time in who knows how long and suddenly this guy’s puffing his chest out. Sit down buddy. The season is young yet.

For a fan of a team that has been atrocious for the last decade, you sure seem to have a lot of hate for another walking mat franchise for most of the recent past. What happened to $hitty team solidarity?

However, I do think it is extremely likely that the populations of the Kickapoo and Sauk & Fox Nation reservations in central Kansas and the Osage and Creek Nation reservations in North Oklahoma will watch their sons play for, respectively, the Little River, North, Union, and McCLoud High School Redskins Friday night, then spend all Saturday brooding and preparing to “morbidly abuse” Robert Griffin from their living rooms on Sunday. It didn’t really fit into my sarcasm, but I also wanted to mention that the Kickapoo, Sauk & Fox, Osage, and Creek Nations have all publicly stated support for the Redskins name.

Either way, I think this is going to be a fun-to-watch, hard-fought game, and not a cakewalk for either team.

  11. I think the Redskins need to be alittle more concerned with the Cowboys game in 2 weeks…maybe that’s why the team is 1-3 because the players were thinking about the playoff rather than what had to be done to get there. RG3 will be alittle more healthy and hopefully Haskett can get the defense straightened out, I hope they don’t get embarrassed in Dallas.
