C.J. Spiller: If I can get ankle to 80-85 percent, I’m playing Thursday

Bills running back C.J. Spiller found tough going on the ground for the second straight week during Sunday’s victory over the Ravens and he also had to leave the game early because of an injury for the second straight week.

It was his ankle, not his quadriceps, this time and the other big difference is that Spiller’s not feeling as confident about his chances of playing in Week Five as he was this time last week about facing Baltimore. The fact that this week’s game against the Browns falls on Thursday likely contributes to that feeling, but Spiller said he’ll deem himself ready to go if he’s feeling in the neighborhood of 100 percent.

“If I can get to 80-85 percent, that’ll be good,” Spiller said, via the team.

Spiller said his frustration level was a 10 out of 10 as a result of the nagging injuries he’s picked up over the last two weeks. The Bills would likely put themselves at a similar level and their readings would be off the chart if the knee injury suffered by Fred Jackson on Sunday had turned out to be anything serious. If Spiller can’t go, Jackson and Tashard Choice would handle the running duties in Week Five.
