The trade sending left tackle Levi Brown from the Cardinals to the Steelers is now official.

Pittsburgh announced the trade on Wednesday afternoon. The compensation heading back to the Cardinals is a conditional draft pick, but the team offered no details about the conditions of that pick in the announcement.

Brown is expected to replace Mike Adams at left tackle in Pittsburgh. His play with the Cardinals was hardly the stuff of legend, but the same can be said for Adams and the Steelers are taking a shot that Brown’s arrival can help make the line something less than the swinging gate that it’s been so far this season.

Brown played for Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley in Arizona, which should help his transition to a new team with the regular season already underway. He’ll have more than a week to pick up as much as he can before the Steelers return to action against the Jets in Week Six.

The Steelers also announced that cornerback Isaiah Green has been released to open a spot on the roster.
