The Broncos avoided another big loss on defense on Wednesday, but it came after only more than a little sweating.
Linebacker Danny Trevathan, carted off during practice with a knee injury, will be OK. According to the team, tests conducted on the knee were negative. Which is always positive.
Trevathan, a sixth-round pick in 2012, has emerged as a starter this season after getting zero starts as a rookie. The Broncos already are dealing with the departure in free agency of defensive end Elvis Dumervil, the six-game suspension imposed on linebacker Von Miller, and a lingering foot sprain for cornerback Champ Bailey.
