Trevathan carted off during Broncos practice

The Denver defense keeps losing players.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports that Broncos linebacker Danny Trevathan was carted off during practice.  Trevathan has a knee injury.

The 2012 sixth-round pick has become a starter in his second NFL season.

The Broncos already are missing defensive end Elvis Dumervil, linebacker Von Miller, and cornerback Champ Bailey.  Miller will be back after the Week Six shredding of the Jaguars; Bailey could return from a sprained foot at any time.

Regardless of the severity of Trevathan’s injury, there’s only one season-ending injury that would end the team’s season.

How are the Broncos missing Dumervil? He signed with the Ravens. That’s like saying the Raiders are missing Carson Palmer.

    Get well, Danny.

… but … looking forward to Denver’s implosion.

As a Broncos fan, this is ridiculous, honestly. Makes me wonder who the hell is next…

Knowshon Moreno is most definitely irreplacable.

They are going to need their defense healthy when Peyton Manning flames again in the post season.

Don’t forget, Von Miller is coming back at some point this season, and Shaun Phillips has been a complete beast thus far.

Denver will need a defense for a playoff run

As long as they can keep the other team under 40 points, they’ll be fine.

It really doesn’t matter. The Broncos only need their offense. The defense never gets on the field.

I hope Peyton takes it easy in my Cowboys.. Not looking forward to this game

Just like with almost any other great offensive team in the past, some opponent will figure out how to attack Denver’s offense sooner or later. Denver may still win it all, it just means there will eventually be some close games where the defense will need to step up. They can’t afford to lose more players.

This is why Von Miller’s six game suspension might actually be a positive. He’s avoided stupid injuries early in the season (unlike Trevathan and Clady) and will hopefully be healthy and ready when we actually need him to go: the playoffs.
