Likely first-round pick HaHa Clinton-Dix suspended at Alabama

HaHa Clinton-Dix, who is widely regarded as the best safety in college football and a future first-round draft pick, has been suspended by Alabama.

Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban would not say why Clinton-Dix is suspended, other than that he violated “team rules and policies.”

“I’m going to be consistent. When guys get suspended, I never ever say what it’s for. All right?” Saban said. “So, I’m not going there, so don’t ask me. It’s the way it always happens. Every guy. If they do right, they wouldn’t be getting suspended. I don’t know for how long this will be, so don’t ask me that either. That’s the only new news we have right now.”

Clinton-Dix is in his third season of college football, which means he does have another season of NCAA eligibility but can enter next year’s NFL draft. There’s little doubt that he’s good enough to play in the NFL, but teams will want to know whether off-field issues are likely to remain a concern.
