Running back Ahmad Bradshaw has been a productive player for many years, but that productivity hasn’t always been able to rise to the surface because of injuries.

It doesn’t look like that has changed along with his uniform. Bradshaw’s a member of the Colts now and he ran well in Weeks Two and Three before coming down with a neck injury that kept him out of last week’s victory over the Jaguars. Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star reports that the Colts are “hopeful but concerned” about Bradshaw’s injury, which they hope will heal on its own but fear will require surgery that could end his season.

The Colts aren’t making any public comments about that possibility, although coach Chuck Pagano admitted Wednesday that there’s no clear outlook right now for when they might get Bradshaw back in the lineup.

“I’m planning on him being around,’’ Pagano said. “Certainly he won’t be at practice. We’ve made some adjustments for that. Once we get some feedback, once we get some answers, then we’ll know more.”

Trent Richardson and Donald Brown will handle the running duties with Bradshaw out of the lineup, whether that’s in the short term or for the rest of the season.
