Bengals banged up on defense heading into date with Patriots

Leon Hall AP

The Bengals lost to the Browns last week with three of their top defensive backs on the sideline because of injuries.

Things aren’t looking too much better this time around. Safety Reggie Nelson is probable to make his return to the lineup after missing the Cleveland game with a hamstring injury, but cornerback Leon Hall is less likely to be back in the lineup.

Hall is doubtful for Sunday’s contest with his own hamstring injury and is therefore likely to be on the shelf for a second straight week. He did practice on Friday for the first time since getting hurt in Week Three, though, so the light at the end of the tunnel may be in sight. Cornerback Brandon Ghee, who didn’t practice Friday, is also doubtful because of a thigh injury and cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick is questionable with a hamstring injury.

The defensive injuries aren’t limited to the secondary. Defensive end Michael Johnson is still in the league’s concussion protocol and hasn’t been cleared for action yet. He’s questionable for Sunday.

Well, it’ll be the hospital game. Gronk/Amendola/Wilfork are all gone too.

Defense? Bengals don’t have a defense. They have 11 slobs stand on the field while the other teams offense scores.

Can this be the year that the Browns win the division? Lol

This report is so funny because at Turk time for the final cuts, the Bengals were bragging how they had far too many excellent DBs, LBs, and DLs to choose from and that these were such wonderful headaches to have.

Even the remaining unbeaten teams have lots of injuries, so why are the Bengals’ more important and of greater impact? In fact, the Cards have lost almost all of their LBs. The backups are all from the practice squad and almost all are undrafted.

Now the mighty proud Bengals are reduced to making excuses that they do not have enough healthy guys. This gives rise to the talk that they picked and kept the wrong guys who are injury prone and let go the ones they shoulda-woulda kept if they only knew then how fragile the guys they kept were going to be.

Excuses are for Losers. What? There are more excuses still coming from the Bengals?

Luckily for the Bengals the Patriots don’t currently have anyone to catch the ball either.

Ravanator sounds incredibly jealous. I mean the ravens have 6 guys from a retirement home and 5 others that nobody else wanted yet he cracks on the bengals? Must be that time of the month for this chick.
