PFT on NBCSN: Danny Woodhead, Week Five preview

San Diego Chargers running back Woodhead catches a first half touchdown pass against Dallas Cowboys outside linebacker Carter during their NFL football game in San Diego Reuters

Running back Danny Woodhead made the move from New England to San Diego and we’ll find out how the change has affected him outside of limiting the need for heavy sweaters in his wardrobe.

Woodhead will join Pro Football Talk on NBCSN on Friday, two days before he and the rest of the Chargers head up to Oakland for a late-starting game against the Raiders. We’ll find out his thoughts on that game, his impressions of playing with quarterback Philip Rivers and how he likes his role on the San Diego offense.

And then we’ll take a spin around the entire league to preview all of the games in Week Five. Which teams will remain undefeated? Which teams will find their first victory? Which injuries will have the most impact on the weekend? All that and more will be up for discussion on the program.

It all gets underway at 5:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

Why is it whenever I hear the name Danny Woodhead… I think of Wayne Chrebet?!?

Woodhead could be a 25-30 carry feature back if given a chance, especially behind a big o-line…

Woodhead is tremendous fun to watch. I still can’t figure out why the Pats cut him loose. San Diego ended up with a real gem, that’s for sure.

The Pats have (clearly) shown that they know how to find, develop, then part ways with great talent at just the right time. But in this case, I think they really screwed the pooch. To lose Welker and Woodhead at the same time, is nuts. You can see how those two guys are now serious assets to both the Broncos and Chargers, respectively.

He won’t say it to the media, but you KNOW that Brady is pissed that he lost his security blankets, in those two guys.

When you talk to Danny please tell him Pats fans everywhere miss him and we are still rooting for him!
