Bears defensive tackle Nate Collins out with knee injury

Bears starting defensive tackle Nate Collins will miss the rest of Sunday’s game against New Orleans with a knee injury, the club’s official Twitter feed said.

Collins left the game after suffering the injury on the Saints’ first drive of the third quarter.

Collins has filled the lineup spot vacated by Henry Melton, who suffered a season-ending ACL tear in September.

The 26-year-old Collins has spent the last two seasons with the Bears. A fourth-year pro from Virginia, Collins began his career with Jacksonville (2009-2010).

    Evil Jay shows again. So many yards, so few points when it counts. The only amazing thing about the Saints-Bears game was the line. How Vegas could have watched both teams last week and still called it a push is beyond me. A shame there are no legal sports books here in Iowa.

    chio1town………

    After reading your comments on hopes for Rodgers to get a ACL injury…it appears
    ” what goes around comes around ” so since you started pulling for injuries I hope Collins has an ACL just like you pull for…..

    Also…it appears the clock has struck midnight for your Bears

    Same old Jay? He beat Brees in every single passing category. What was the line in Vegas on that?

    Would rather talk about Tebow than current Bears who can’t win the pressure games. Giants will have a good chance for this week’s Thursday night Mediocre Bowl. Line should be a push.

    Cutler had a 128.6 QB rating. the defense needs to tackle better. get off of the field and let Cutler and Trestmen pick apart defenses. Emery needs to go out and get two DT’S

    @nickeynick
    this is football so STOP BEING SCARED, Players get hurt out there
    now if thats too much for you to handle. maybe you should watch a golf game. Rodgers is on that field and he can be hurt just like everybody else. now stuff that in your cheese and eat it.
