No team was interested in trading with the Buccaneers for acquiring quarterback Josh Freeman, but he’s now drawing interest in free agency.
The Bills are interested in signing Freeman and began intensifying their efforts to acquire him on Sunday night, according to Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen of ESPN. Buffalo would make a lot of sense as the destination for Freeman after the Bills lost starting quarterback EJ Manuel to an LCL sprain on Thursday night. The only other quarterback on the Bills’ roster is undrafted rookie Jeff Tuel, which means Freeman might be able to sign with the Bills on Monday and be ready to play on Sunday.
But the Bills aren’t the only team trying to acquire Freeman. The Vikings and Raiders are also interested, according to the report.
Freeman could make his choice as soon as tonight.
