Chiefs not allowing Titans much breathing room

The Chiefs are well on their way to 5-0, and they’re doing it with a suffocating defense.

The Jake Locker-less Titans didn’t move at all early, going three-and-out on their first five possessions. But even when they did threaten, the Chiefs stood up.

A 64-yard drive (which represents the bulk of their 83 yards) ended with nothing when the Chiefs stuffed running back Jackie Battle on fourth-and-goal. The goal-line stand also included Titans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick completing a pass to himself (at least he plays for his own team).

The Chiefs are playing efficiently with the ball, and quarterback Alex Smith has completed a pair of deep balls to Donnie Avery (who has 91 of their 190 yards through the air).

It’s not much to look at, but they’re up 13-0 at the half, and it counts.
