As the clock approached midnight on the East Coast, the Raiders struck first against the Chargers in Oakland.

On Oakland’s first offensive play, quarterback Terrelle Pryor connected with wide receiver Rod Streater on a 44-yard touchdown pass, giving the Raiders a 7-0 lead about two minutes into the game.

The Raiders’ defense put their offense in good field position, with safety Usama Young picking off Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers deep downfield and returning it 25 yards.

On the next play, Pryor hit Streater in stride for the game’s first points.
