You can’t knock Matt Schaub’s consistency

For Texans quarterback Matt Schaub, it was the very worst way to start a game what needed to be a bounce-back game.

Schaub was intercepted by 49ers cornerback Tramaine Brock, who returned it for a touchdown and a quick 7-0 lead.

It’s the fourth straight game Schaub has thrown a pick-six, the worst of which came during last week’s fourth-quarter implosion against the Seahawks. That’s a league record no one ever wants to break.

If he can’t turn things around quickly, he’s going to have to worry about losing more than just a game, as his job has come under question, and he keeps giving his critics ammunition.

Matt Schaub is the absolute epitome of mediocrity at the quarterback position.

Hey give him a break, it’s only his second or third year in the league…oh, wait.

If only cheap Bengals owner re-signed Johnathan Joseph.

That was just poetic how the announcers talked about who he shares the record with and then he breaks it the next play.

I hope this guy finds his way through his slump. There was a day when this guy was a potential franchise QB. What has gone wrong is a mystery….

    He’s got a fragile psyche.

I’ll be okay if he’s benched for continuing to underacheive, but he should be allowed to get his job back if his fill-in struggles.

The NFL is a crazy league, but after his pick-6 against the 49ers guess who was secretly thrilled, the New York Giants and Case Keenum’s biggest supporter Mike Florio.

Matt Schaub is like stale bland soda. Zero fizz. He is a below average QB.

His decision making skills are broken. He needs to relax and read the defense but he can’t relax and therefore he isn’t seeing the defense. Until he gets his confidence back (and at this point that may not be possible) he is going to keep throwing interceptions.

Hopefully he is no Jake Delhomme, who at one point was a half decent quarterback but devolved into one of the worst quarterbacks to take snaps in the NFL.

It’s funny that even after showing he was one of the worst quarterbacks ever Mike Holmgren still gave him $7 million and a starting position. Mike Holmgren was just an incompetent during his time in Cleveland.

And add another pick. Schaub makes Andy Dalton look good

    Freeman to Houston.

Yet again the Texans get dominated by a good opponent. They always dominate the low level teams

    Freeman, come to Houston.

I’m sorry to say this, but my guess is that the mediocre coach Fisher must have had a dramatic experience with Vince Young to black ball him with the other coaches. Vince is 31-19 as a starting QB.

Its sad, he looked very good with Green Bay… My guess is that Vince must have spent some quality time with a Fisher … And it wasn’t Jeff.

The Texans may want to forget the good ole boys club and bring him in!

Please don’t say quarterback position. Ok dilfer?

  19. titansbro says: Oct 6, 2013 10:34 PM

Nope VY was just a head case, often injured, & generally not very good. Don’t give him credit for wins when they actually had a good defense & running game. He averaged like 140 ypg during his career & made horrible decisions. HE WAS NOT GOOD

  20. pgilbert2013 says: Oct 6, 2013 10:42 PM

TitansBro, well noted. I just saw him move right down the field in per-season, and wonder why he can’t earn a spot.

Look at some of these 3rd stringers. I’m a 49ers fan and still baffled why we have Skelton on our sideline… Skelton?

Might be time for the Texans to jump into the Josh Freeman sweepstakes!

Peyton Manning had considered playing for Houston last year but Houston had absolutely no interest. Go figure.
