Broncos rub Jaguars’ fur the wrong way on Twitter

Green Bay Packers v St. Louis Rams Getty Images

This one’s going to get ugly anyway, but it seems the sniping has already begun.

The Broncos mentioned on their official Twitter account, as many others have, that the 51 points they scored yesterday just so happens to be the same amount the Jaguars have scored this season.

Seems pertinent, since they’re playing this week.

The Jaguars noticed, and gave them their best Pee Wee Herman “I know you are, but what am I?” comeback.

The Broncos didn’t shy away from continuing, dropping a “No shots, just stats.”

Considering the game itself might not be very entertaining, we’ll take whatever we can get out of this one, at least until they sit down over free beers (with designated drivers) and hash it all out.

After Manning leads the Broncos to 49 points in the first half, we will get to see the Broncos’ life after Peyton with Osweiller playing his first extended NFL minutes. Now that will be interesting to see if Manning’s cerebral processes have rubbed off on Osweiller.

One of the Broncos writers (I will not say who but I pretty sure Darin knows him) was asking people to name a defense that succeeded without its 4 best players, and that you couldn’t. I responded that the 04 Pats lost Seymour and Law and Poole, all above average to great starters plus they had a WR at DB in 04 and they won the SB. I got crickets in return.

There’s something kind of weird about John Fox, whose team in Carolina was one of those complained about for being too physical withWRs by Polian and Martz being the guy who now has that QB who most benefitted from that change.

Broncos’ Nation is so full of themselves that they are spreading nausea to the rest of the NFL.

There was about 12 or 13 years between the end of John Elway’s run at QB and Peyton Manning’s “pay me millions” tour, so there was some relief to the rest of the AFC West.

Whatever, we all know Denver has always crushed the Jags! Well, err, humm, the series record is Denver 4 wins and Jags 6 wins. No matter! Denver ALWAYS wins when it really counts, take for example their glorious victory in the AFC Divisional playoff game… they… oh… Jags won that one too. Records be dammed, Denver is too strong this year, the Jags stink, we all know that there has never been an upset in the NFL, that we can hang our hat on! Bet the farm boys, just bet the farm!

WOW! A lot of haters out there. Payton is having an unbelievable season, and as a Bronco fan I can appreciate what he has done his whole career. Yes even when he was torching Denver in the playoffs. I really hope that people can watch him and truly enjoy what he is doing. Payton has a ring so any talk about him choking in the playoffs is irrelevant. I remember hearing the same things about Elway and thinking they might be true, but then he ended his career on top.

However much longer Payton plays I will enjoy and just take it all in no matter what happens. He is headed to the hall of fame and is and will be for a long time the greatest football player. Better than the great Jerry Rice, better than Montana, Elway, Marino, and even Brady!

Browns fan here. Dshiek that was a completely and totally AWFUL comment to post. Just because the Jags are total garbage as a team year doent’t mean you should with something that horrible on a fellow human being.

This is opinion is coming from someone who witnessed the Broncos beat the Browns 3 times in AFC championship games in the 1980s, so I’m definetely not a fan of the Broncos.

Careful their Sheik…Karma has a way putting on you the negative wishes you have on somebody else on you.

    To those who distort stats in an effort to diminish the great PFM;

The Broncos are NOT the Colts. Stop saying Peyton did this and Peyton did that when you mean the Colts.

    Peyton’s a big horse now.

The Jags may be the worst team in the NFL but I still remember what happened to Denver the last time they talked trash about them! 1997 must still sting!

How stupid is this? Teams resorting to Twitter? Remember when football was just that? Now there are tweets, fantasy football dorks, pink flags, London, etc. Oh, and be careful how you tackle someone!

WWVLD? What Would Vince Lombardi Do? I doubt him or Papa Halas would resort to tweets.

Are you seriously concerned about class?? What did they do wrong?? You mean they gave a little trash talk? ITS FOOTBALL!!! Thata what we do in football; we talk trash!!! Just like every coach yells and gets in his players faces to pump them up! Just like a drill sargeant pushes his privates to get them ready!!! Its all about motivation amd fun…..quit being whiney brats and just talk trash back.
