Colts trust that Luck’s always going to deliver

Seattle Seahawks v Indianapolis Colts AP

The impressive part about second-year quarterback Andrew Luck isn’t necessarily how often he leads the Colts to come-from-behind wins.

It’s how accepted it’s become that he’s about to.

Playing one of the league’s best defenses, down five in the fourth quarter, Luck did what he’s done so many (nine) times, lead his team back to win.

“Against that team? Extremely difficult,” Colts coach Chuck Pagano said, via Mike Wells of ESPN.com. “That’s Andrew being Andrew. We’re very lucky — no pun intended — to have him.”

The guy has played 21 games, won 15 of them. That means 60 percent of the time, he delivers them in dramatic fashion, and they’re getting used to it.

Prior to the 14-play, 86-yard drive that put his side ahead for good, he calmly walked into the huddle and told his team “let’s go get this,” so they did.

“Truth is, we know we have to do our part because we know he’s going to do his part,” right tackle Gosder Cherilus said. “We know the kid has major heart. As long as we do our part — I’m talking about all 10 of us — we know he’ll do his.

“It’s one of those things where we keep playing and keep going we’ll be fine with him leading the way.”

That belief goes a long way, and will keep the Colts thinking they have a chance, as long as he’s on the field.

Colts fans are spoiled. From Peyton
    Manning to Andrew Luck.

Congrats on the win indy. Luck carved up Seattles secondary, and won the toughest game of the week

    Really impressed with this kid

Whether you had a rooting interest in yesterday’s game or not, it was a classic.

Luck is a beast. Almost every throw was on the money yesterday while Wilson was overthrowing guys all game. Hope to play you again this season. Respect.

Still not sold on the Colts because of the holes on that team and was one of the few who thought they got fleeced for Richardson, but Luck is a stud. He is unflappable and gets better when the game is on the line.

Colts are winning the AFC South

Great game all around. Luck and Wilson have clearly separated themselves from the pack in the class of 2012.

I’ll take my guy every time, but that team in Seattle is in good hands. Here’s hoping we rematch on a neutral field sometime soon.

200 yards passing isn’t carving up anything. Luck generates little offense, and up until the first T.Y. bomb he had generated 3 yards of offense into the second quarter. His win against San Fran the Colts’ offense out rushed his passing totals.

The refs won that game yesterday for the Colts, not Andrew “Bail Me Out Again on 3rd Downs Again Please Refs” Luck. Worst PIs I’ve ever seen called. Not to mention they stole a touchdown from the Hawks.

Much like last year with Wayne in victories, Luck needs a single reciever to generate roughly 75% of his offense in victory.

Is it time to start talking about October 20th yet?

It still breaks my heart that Luck spent another year in college when he would have been taken by Carolina. So instead we get Cam Newton, the “It’s All about Me” guy whose only real accomplishment in Charlotte so far is to establish a lines of clothes with his name on it.

With that rant over, Cam did look swell yesterday with the breast awareness pink towel on his head and he was real sporty in his press conference after another lousy effort on his part, dressed to the nines in a tie, sweater, and coat.

Who else but Cam Newton wears a sweater and coat in 90 degree weather?

Taintedlombardi sounds a little bitter about getting beat. Maybe if Sherman showed the same effort as Luck then maybe he wouldn’t have gotten smoked by TY. Not to mention Carrol probably should have had the so called “best” DB in the league covering Wayne instead of Bey in the first place. You got beat get over it. Hopefully you will get a chance to redeem yourselves in Feb.

Sorry, math geek here — 15 wins in 21 tries should equate to a bit more than 71% success rate instead of the 60% cited in the story. As a Viking fan, I’d settle for the 60%!

  17. devildog911 says: Oct 7, 2013 10:30 AM

Taintedlombardi is an ignorant dumb troll. Of course he needs a receiver to deliver his offense you worthless turd.

  18. mc1439 says: Oct 7, 2013 10:31 AM

I do admit the guy is talented, but I can’t get over how obnoxious he is with all that crap he screams at the line. Just because you have a neck beard doesn’t mean you’re not a douche.

  19. jjnscbusin says: Oct 7, 2013 10:39 AM

Love how people criticize lucks game that it would be as good if you took away that long pass or two. the short passing game and power run, then the long bomb. That’s the whole strategy and it’s working.

  20. gettinglucky12 says: Oct 7, 2013 10:49 AM

Mc: Peyton and Brady both scream a lot at the before the snap too. Maybe you find it obnoxious but it works

Are you sure you are a math geek? You need to learn how to read word problems.
“The guy has played 21 games, won 15 of them. That means 60 percent of the time, he delivers them in dramatic fashion, and they’re getting used to it.”

So, Luck has won 9 times in dramatic fashion out of 15 wins… or 60% of the time. Don’t let the extra fact in there throw you (21 games is not part of the equation).

They are actually talking about his comebacks, 9 out of 15 wins, or 60%…

  23. taintedlombardis says: Oct 7, 2013 10:58 AM

    It’s the refs stupid.

  24. peehergriphon says: Oct 7, 2013 11:05 AM

Luck is a beast. Luck will win more SB rings than PManning

  25. chefbob52355 says: Oct 7, 2013 11:09 AM

The Hawks might have statistically out played the Colts, but they didn’t have the fortitude to put them away. The coaching staff can absorb some of that blame, not the refs.

BTW, Andrew is becoming what we thought he would

  26. gettinglucky12 says: Oct 7, 2013 11:10 AM

Typical sore loser…blames the refs. The refs are not perfect there were bad calls on each side. Can’t blame them for TY blowing by Sherman for 73 yards

  27. eggmcnoggin says: Oct 7, 2013 11:26 AM

Neither of these guys is elite, but they’re both really good for being 2nd year guys. That Wilson is wiley and a really slippery runner.

Also, if you think the refs gave the game to the Colts you’re forgetting the missed forcible blow to the head call that led to the Luck fumble, (which double screwed me because I’m a Colts fan AND I have Luck on my fantasy team) and the clear pass interference that was missed when Wayne was mugged on a 3rd down. So, don’t go there, because there were some bad calls on both sides.

HUGE seattle fan here! Not going to blame the refs (although they were terrible!) not gonna blame the fact that we were missing three I line starters ( had 2 100 yard rushers!) not even gonna blame not having Percy!!! Andrew luck is a stud!! Plain and simple!! But make no mistake, on a neutral field Seattle DESTROYS THE COLTS!! Great win by them. Classy qb and classy coach!!! However this was a road game at 10 am for the hawks!!! It’s gonna be ok if we lose a couple!!! But don’t get it twisted haters, the colts want NOTHING to do the seattle come February!!!! Great effort by Russell to show the world he isn’t 74 picks worse the mr luck.. Great effort Indy but id be really careful about bragging to much as you all know Seattle is a lot better then you!! Starters all on the field and healthy at a nuetral site and your golden pony boy loses by 20!!!!

    GO HAWKS!!!!

  29. wilsonwillbreaku says: Oct 7, 2013 12:32 PM

To all Seahawk fans complaining about this game…please stop. The Colts are LEGIT, and probably the second best team in the AFC behind the Denver Peyton Mannings. We all knew this game was going to be a close one and it was. We are not perfect and have a lot of things to work on before playing the Titans this week. Give credit where credit is due. Indy’s secondary played better than ours…period. We kicked field goals while they scored touchdowns. Quit blaming the refs…you’re starting to sound like Green Bay fans, whiny and bitter. Have a little class.

  30. sharksfan97 says: Oct 7, 2013 12:33 PM

Niners then Seahawks back to back. Above average supporting cast, but not best supporting cast. This guy could be the best QB in the league.

  31. chefbob52355 says: Oct 7, 2013 12:39 PM

Playing the injury card is ridiculous! Weren’t the colts missing there starting SS, a starting G, 2 starting RB, and one of their starting TE?

  32. hawkfan50 says: Oct 7, 2013 1:13 PM

Well played game Indy , congrats …

  33. laserw says: Oct 7, 2013 1:29 PM

The Colts got a real QB with Luck instead of the Redskins getting a big-headed, prima donna gimmick that lasted one year.

The Seahags are a drug test (honest and policed) away from losing half their team. Book it.

The Seahags are the most overrated team in the NFL and the biggest individual overrate is Sherman – he will be one who is going to get a rude awakening on an honest and policed drug test.

  34. pmastersonl says: Oct 7, 2013 1:47 PM

To taintedlombardis! Get your panties out your but, a win is a win! GO COLTS!

  35. chefjayson says: Oct 7, 2013 2:31 PM

I’m over the “we were missing starters on the line and our starting TE” crap. You were outcoached and outplayed. Period. Lynch had over 100 yards so the line inuries didnt effect u that much. We have a rookie starting at LG and McGlynn at RG…in which case id rather have a rookie as hes statistically one of the worst in the league. Satele is average on a good day, Landry is out and our starting TE is out for the season. Quit…your….whining. You outplayed us in the 1st quarter…and were outcoached the rest of the game. Injuries are part of this sport. If thats your excuse for a loss…than blame your coach and gm for not drafting adequate depth. Stop the “but but but…injuries…refs…10 am…Neutral site” crap and admit you were bested.

  36. devildog911 says: Oct 7, 2013 9:42 PM

Holy crap! There are a lot of sore losers around here. Get over it, stop making excuses for your team and how they lost. Colts won, plain and simple.
