Geno Smith hot early, Jets up 17-7

Jets quarterback Geno Smith had brutal game against the Titans in Week Four, but it hasn’t carried over to Monday night’s game against the Falcons.

Smith is 8-of-9 for 134 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the first half as the Jets have run out to a 17-7 lead over the Falcons. Smith has been very sharp, driving the ball downfield and making better decisions than he did in Tennessee. Tight end Jeff Cumberland has been a real problem for the Falcons as he has three catches for 79 yards already.

The Falcons defense has looked confused at times by the variety of formations that the Jets have shown through the first two quarters and they haven’t generated any pass rush regardless of how the Jets are lining up.

It’s early, of course, but the Falcons don’t look like they’re in for an easy night against the Jets.

As a dolphin fan, I hate the jets. But that goal line stance was awesome! They look great and are killing the falcons

Falcons have one of the most predictable offenses ever.

I’m shocked by the crappiness of Atlanta’s secondary.

Way to go Jets! Expose these frauds for what they are!

Is Lovie Smith calling the shots for Atlanta? Passing up the field goal and failing on the goal line was his trademark

Is Mike Smith the most overrated coach in the NFL?
I’ve never seen more poor decision making by a coaching staff.
My gosh he’s getting played a fool by Ryan of all people.

Too bad they missed their opportunity last year when the Saints were down. I think we are seeing the end of a team that “could have been” but never was.

The vikqueers toads are watching Geno Smith and screaming it’s not fair.

I’m gonna stun a lot of folks here and end the longest streak in sports……. I was wrong….. I know, I’m also surprised. …… I was wrong about Geno Smith. I never thought he would translate even this well to the NFL game. The kid I saw coming out of college didn’t seem like he had the attitude, focus or maturity to be competent at the most important position in football. I was wrong. The kid isn’t perfect, but he is showing flashes of talent right now. If they surround this young man with more weapons as he matures further into the position I see good things ahead. …..unless I’m wrong again. ….. 😀

Atlanta has no defense against the fact that Atlanta has no defense.

I knew Geno had it all along… Imagine if he had some real weapons
