The Panthers entered the year knowing their offensive line was a mess, and it keeps getting worse.

A day after allowing seven sacks in a 22-6 loss to the Cardinals, the Panthers lost left guard Amini Silatolu for the season with a torn ACL, according to Jonathan Jones of the Charlotte Observer.

Silatolu, the team’s second-round pick in 2012, was beginning to show signs of competence, and at least giving the Panthers a solid side of a line along with center Ryan Kalil and veteran left tackle Jordan Gross.

They’ll likely use veteran Travelle Wharton in that spot, but they’re extremely thin on the line, and the right side has been a persistent problem all year.
