Roddy White leaves in fourth with hamstring injury

Falcons' White is unable to catch a pass in the end zone as he is defended by Ravens' Brown during the first half of their NFL pre-season football game in Baltimore Reuters

Falcons wide receiver Roddy White has been hampered all season by a high ankle sprain, but it was another leg injury that knocked him out in the fourth quarter of Monday night’s game against the Jets.

White has gone to the sideline with a hamstring injury and his return is being called questionable. White has four catches for 45 yards on the night, which has been a frustrating one for the Falcons.

The Falcons have outgained the Jets on the night, but they haven’t turned the yards into points against an aggressive Jets defense. They closed within three points in the third quarter, but a Matt Ryan fumble and a costly horse collar penalty helped set up 10 Jets points that have allowed them to extend their lead to 27-14 with 10 minutes left to play.

Running back Jason Snelling’s return is also questionable after he left with a head injury.

At 1-4, Atlanta needs Roddy to get healthy in a hurry! Not a good season for rockin Roddy by any stretch and the Birds have a big hole to dig themselves out of.

Roddy White is the NFC’s version of Ryan Matthews.

Thank god they elected to have Roddy White play injured and be a decoy all year rather than let him heal up. That’s really paid dividends for the Falcons.

Smart move. At least now they’ll be forced to let him rest and heal so that he’ll be healthy for next season because the coaching already cost them this season.
