Adam Jones found not guilty on assault charges

Pacman AP

Adam Jones was in trouble.  Key word:  Was.

Jones’ agent, Peter Schaffer, tells PFT that Jones was acquitted by a Hamilton County municipal court judge on one charge of misdemeanor assault stemming from an incident occurring outside a Cincinnati bar earlier this year.

Jones was accused of assaulting a woman who appeared to pour a drink on him.  Surveillance video seemed to indicate that Jones retaliated by striking the woman.

It’s still possible that Jones will face a civil lawsuit and/or discipline from the league.  He won’t face any criminal sanctions.

Video evidence of him hitting a woman and he walks. Some lawyers are magicians.

Pacman found not guilty, until the next one.

That girl tried to hit him with a beer bottle. And did a Steeler fan seriously just comment about a lawyer getting Pacman off the hook? Because I’m pretty sure Big Ben got away with two sexual assaults.

He should sue her, but my guess is she’s a 23 year old waitress who can’t afford rent.

Cue the Bengal haters. Sorry guys, Jones is just not guilty but somehow I’ll bet that fact escapes you. If you were someone falsely accused you would want the verdict to be fair and just too. Get over it.

I always saddens me when I hear that you could be not guilty of something, but still liable and have to pay in this country. If you didn’t do it, you didn’t do it. You don’t pass go and some money grubbing punk doesn’t get your $200. SMDH Shakespeare said something about lawyers, all except the ones that aren’t money grubbing…like Florio

Does pouring a drink on you make it okay for you to hit a woman in the face, hard enough to knock her off her feet? Not just that, but have to be held back by a friend afterward!

  17. vwbrown19 says: Oct 8, 2013 6:23 PM

Adam Jones is an a$$hole who’s been arrested 8x in 8 years but still he’s in the NFL now that’s criminal.

I’m NOT condoning Jones….just saying that she committed an a assault by law FIRST, BUT pacman shouldn’t have hit her. But that woman CAN’T go around pouring drinks on others….because you NEVER know when u do it to the WRONG person.

  21. bengalskuta82 says: Oct 8, 2013 7:09 PM

Good for you Adam. Now get on the field and make another game ending INT.
Yes that’s what a Bengals fan cares about.Winning!
And that Steelers fan; don’t talk like your team is so top class # 1 in respecting women. Don’t get me started

  22. urbusted2 says: Oct 8, 2013 7:21 PM

I’d like to know what was said to cause the girl to pour a drink on him. Maybe he should try and stay out of those situations to begin with. Just a thought.

  23. TheWizard says: Oct 8, 2013 7:28 PM

Yeah, but let him screw up one more time………..

I mean really, he managed to salvage his career against all odds, and he’s out in the club?

The post-football world is gonna bite this guy in the ass hard.

Right, Steeler fans setting the record straight. Go cheer for your rapist QB.

  27. mrfrostyj says: Oct 8, 2013 7:58 PM

i’m not a bengals fan nor a pac man Jones fan but facts are facts the guy was defending himself from a crazy drunk. There shouldn’t be special rules because it happened to be a woman doing the assault that he had to defend himself from.

not guilty is the right call.

  28. joetoronto says: Oct 8, 2013 8:20 PM

You idiots saying he’s not guilty are bigger turd than Pacman himself.

    Congratulations. SMH.

I’m not a proponent of violence but, if someone pours a drink on me because I won’t do what they want they have a thump upside the melon coming.

  32. jacobk621 says: Oct 8, 2013 9:08 PM

  33. aljack88 says: Oct 8, 2013 9:15 PM

I’m not a fan of Pacman either, but I can’t understand why pro players who have a history of getting into trouble at bars and night clubs just can’t stay away from them for the 5 – 10 years they play pro ball. Unless they can’t see the difference in making a few million bucks per year versus $25 grand per year doing some menial labor.

He is in fact, not guilty, as ruled by a court of law. Whether or not you agree with the verdict doesn’t change it. And calling people idiots because you are butthurt about it is pretty childish.

Regardless of what the verdict was, he slugged a woman in the face.

If that’s fine with you, you’re a turd just like him, period.

  36. bonniebengal says: Oct 9, 2013 6:02 AM

Adam needs to stay out of bars, period. I am concerned about the team depending on him. I don’t want another Stanley Wilson situation where he lets the whole team down at a critical moment because of his conduct.

  37. jm91rs says: Oct 9, 2013 2:29 PM

Never ever in your life should a man hit a woman, but some women get drunk and think that means they won’t get hit back if they are the aggressors. Legally Pacman was innocent because he was not the first aggressor, morally he’s an idiot that should have walked away.
Note to drunk women: 1 or 2 in 10 men are going to pop you in the jaw if you strike first.

And legally that’s not wrong if she hit (or even came close to hitting) him first. Pacman is obviously missing some of the morals he should have been born with, but he’s not guilty in the eyes of the law here, and that’s probably all that matters when we’re talking football.
