Colts place Ahmad Bradshaw on injured reserve

PFT reported on Tuesday that Colts running back Ahmad Bradshaw needed season-ending surgery and the Colts have confirmed that Bradshaw’s season is over.

The team announced that Bradshaw has been placed on injured reserve, ending his season after playing in just three games. Bradshaw’s 95 rushing yards and a touchdown helped the Colts win one of those games in San Francisco, but that one highlight is going to be the best the veteran has to show for his work this season.

Trent Richardson and Donald Brown are the running backs currently on the Colts roster. Bradshaw’s move to injured reserve opens up a roster spot that could be used for another back and the Colts also freed up another on Tuesday.

The team has waived fullback Robert Hughes, who played one game with the team this season. The Colts also released seventh-round pick Kerwynn Williams from the practice squad, so he’s unlikely to be the third back should the Colts decide to go in that direction.

A lot of us owe the Browns an apology. It looks like they fleeced the Colts for a 1st rounder for a 3YPC back.

Probably Bradshaw’s end in the NFL. He was a great Giant. I was rooting for him to do well with the Colts but the dude had just gotten way too banged up over the years. Too bad because he always gave 110%.

Colts player+Neck surgery = breaking rushing TD record for the Broncos in 2015. Congrats Bronco fans.

Giant fan here, so I certainly respect his all-out effort. Sorry to say, however, Career Over.

Shame. Guy always ran hard. Was brilliant in the SF game, helping pound it down the 9ERS throat down the stretch which is never an easy feat.

Bradshaw has always been one if my fav even before be came to Indy. The guy just runs hard but ran his mouth. I was very excited the day he came to interview with the Colts even with Ballard having a great rookie year. Wish Ahmad the best and hope to see a horseshoe on that helmet again next year.
