PFT reported on Tuesday that Colts running back Ahmad Bradshaw needed season-ending surgery and the Colts have confirmed that Bradshaw’s season is over.

The team announced that Bradshaw has been placed on injured reserve, ending his season after playing in just three games. Bradshaw’s 95 rushing yards and a touchdown helped the Colts win one of those games in San Francisco, but that one highlight is going to be the best the veteran has to show for his work this season.

Trent Richardson and Donald Brown are the running backs currently on the Colts roster. Bradshaw’s move to injured reserve opens up a roster spot that could be used for another back and the Colts also freed up another on Tuesday.

The team has waived fullback Robert Hughes, who played one game with the team this season. The Colts also released seventh-round pick Kerwynn Williams from the practice squad, so he’s unlikely to be the third back should the Colts decide to go in that direction.
