If you were a Falcons fan who thought things couldn’t get much worse after Monday night’s loss to the Jets, you were wrong.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports that the Falcons fear receiver Julio Jones will miss the rest of the season with a foot injury suffered on Monday night. Jones will get a second opinion, but the first medical opinion provided grim news.

Jones is one of the bright spots in a disappointing season for the Falcons, leading the team with 41 catches for 580 yards.

The 1-4 Falcons are already four games behind the Saints in the NFC South. Losing Jones for the season would be a devastating blow from which Atlanta may not be able to recover.
