Ray McDonald’s biceps injury doesn’t appear serious

The 49ers could ill afford another injury to their defensive line, and it appears they’re in the clear on the latest one.

Defensive end Ray McDonald isn’t expected to miss much time after the 49ers got an MRI on his right biceps strain.

We dodged a bullet there,” 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said on his radio show on KNBR, via CSNBayArea.com.  “It looks like Ray might have walked one off.”

McDonald said Monday he didn’t think the injury was serious, and wasn’t wearing a brace or any protective gear.

What a relief. Let him rest for a month and come back after the bye 100%.

As good as our front 7 are, we have been setting ourselves up for losses like this over the last couple of years. With Justin and Ray never coming off the field, our younger guys are overmatched and inexperienced when they are nicked up.

You know who we are missing big time? ISAAC SOPOAGA! That guy was a machine, and so strong. Our run defense hasn’t suffered too much this year, with our LB corp., but his push in the middle has been missed like crazy in the pass rush. If we don’t blitz, we aren’t getting pressure.
