After being released by Cowboys, Will Allen in Pittsburgh

Veteran safety Will Allen was one of the few outside free agents the Cowboys brought in this offseason, and he didn’t last long.

But a day after being cut by the Cowboys, Allen turned up in one of his old haunts.

According to Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Allen was at the Steelers’ facility today.

There was no specification of whether it was for an official workout or an imminent signing, but Allen does have background there. He spent three seasons with the Steelers, and they’re in the mood to shake things up after an 0-4 start.

Why not? There are 15 postions open for competition right now. How about Laundry Jones this week?

    Yes, shake things up!

But will he shake things up by replacing Polamalu or Clark?

Yeah, thought so. Just another big T that doesn’t really add any value whatsoever to the team. Whatsa matter? Shamarko not yet ready for Prime Time if one of the starters goes down? Who’s coaching that kid?

The Steelers are so in for a long famine from the table of wins.

They can shake things up all they want. The brutal truth is there’s no polishing the turd that is the Steelers 2013 season. The Jets D-line is going to cause chaos for that patchwork O-line. With Geno Smith’s inconsistent play a win isn’t out the question for the Steelers, but the real victory would be getting Ben through the game without injury.

He specializes in defending 70 yard passes and 60 yard runs, so he fills a real need.

Wow! Is there no end to this franchise’s desperation? Desperate people don’t often make good decisions…

As long as rival fans are still concerned enough to rush to our threads and bleat, the Steelers are still relevant.

Will Allen subbed for Polamalu last year and the defense finished #1 across the board. I hated to see him leave and I hope they sign him to a three year deal.
