The Colts placed running back Ahmad Bradshaw on season-ending injured reserve on Tuesday and they also released fullback Robert Hughes, leaving themselves a bit thin in the backfield heading into Week Six.

On Wednesday, the team announced a move intended to fatten them up a bit. The Colts have signed running back Daniel Herron off of the Bengals practice squad.

Herron, who is known to some by his nickname Boom, was a sixth-round pick of the Bengals last year. He played in three games as a rookie, carrying the ball four times for five yards and blocking a punt during those appearances.

The Colts also announced that they have signed linebacker Andy Studebaker. Studebaker played 70 games for the Chiefs over the last five seasons and started eight times. He had 2.5 sacks and two interceptions over that period, although he saw most of his time on special teams.
