Owen Daniels out at least eight weeks with IR designation

On Tuesday, the Texans were expecting tight end Owen Daniels to miss 4-8 weeks with a broken leg. On Wednesday, the Texans made it official that missing eight weeks is the best-case scenario.

Daniels is being placed on injured reserve with the designation for return, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Under NFL rules, that means Daniels has to miss at least the next eight weeks.

So the soonest we could see Daniels on the field again is Houston’s Week 14 game on Thursday, December 5, at Jacksonville. Considering the way the Texans have been playing lately, it’s entirely possible that by Week 14, Houston will be out of the playoff hunt.

However, if Houston can turn things around, the Texans’ final three games of the season (against Indianapolis, Denver and Tennessee) could all have major playoff implications. The Texans will have to hope that those games matter, and that Daniels is back and able to make a difference.

Your returning AFC south Champs. da Colts!

Stinks for the texans fan though, they waited a decade to win and two seasons in the window maybe shutting, or it’s at least not as wide open as it was.

When he comes back he might have another QB to gel with. If I was Schaub I’d be hiring a bodyguard and moving company.

This is very unfortunate. Even when Schaub had his head right, he was prone to distrusting his receivers beside Owen and AJ. The last thing he needs in OPERATION: Confidence is to lose a security blanket like that, especially with AJ already less than 100% right now.

They will fire Kubiak after the season, get a decent draft pick for going 8-8, and then not have to do a total rebuild unlike my steelers who will need to fix busted draft picks and aging vets.

As a Ram’s fan I figured they would go into Houston and get their butts whipped this week but now I see a ever small ray of hope.

Texans have struggled with very few injuries, will be much tougher road if they do not stay healthy.
