Report: Jameel McClain will return to practice sooner rather than later

The Ravens haven’t had linebacker Jameel McClain in the lineup since he suffered a spinal cord contusion late in the 2012 regular season, but it appears they are moving closer to getting him back into the lineup.

Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports that McClain got positive news about the injury during a recent MRI exam. The Ravens said this summer that McClain would not be cleared to return until imaging showed no sign of the contusion. McClain is on the physically unable to perform list and is eligible to start practicing again after Week Six.

There’s no word on an exact timetable for McClain’s return to action, but Wilson’s report indicates that he’s expected back at work sooner rather than later.

Josh Bynes and Daryl Smith have been starting at inside linebacker this season with Arthur Brown and Albert McClellan in reserve. McClain had started 29 straight games over the 2011 and 2012 seasons for the Ravens before his injury knocked him out of the lineup.

Wow with the way Smith, Brown, and Bynes have been playing I almost forgot about McClain. Going to take a long time to get back to football shape. They don’t really need him this year. Good problem to have.

A Ravens post without an inappropriate comment from either “wearethesteelers” or “logicalvoicesays”? I guess a combined 1-8 has a tendency to dampen their spirits.

“McClain is … eligible to start practicing again after Week Six.”

I can’t think of a better confidence builder than letting him crush the Steelers the first week he’s back.

Any and everything related to spinal cord injuries can be really scarry stuff. It will be cool to see him on the field again this year, but more than anything, I’m glad he’s okay! Get well soon McClain!

Getting Marlon and jacoby back soon also. New left tackle should be playing soon. And pitta will return before seasons end. Leading the division because of tie breakers and the arrow is only pointing up. Chew on that losers. World champs.

McClain should just reitre and save himself the embarrassment of being cut. He was descent before, and after a spinal cord injury he will never be descent again. I take that back, he shouldn’t retire, being only descent, he will be the best LBer on the Ratbirds.

oldirtyman, you just resigned Stevenson Sylvester. Meanwhile, it’s been exactly 0 wins, 4 losses and 1 merciful by week since…

I can tell by the number of responses many fans of other teams fear the Steelers team. Here is to a championship season. Seven is a good number!!!!

Old Dirty Man, maybe its because you are old and dirty but descent is neither an adjective nor adverb. Think of it this way:

“Many Steelers’ fans, known as yinzers, are of Scotch-Irish descent.”

The Steelers’ steep descent into the AFCN basement is embarassing.
