Tramaine Brock is slowing winning back his old job, and awards to go with it.

The 49ers cornerback was named NFC defensive player of the week after his two interceptions in Sunday’s win over the Texans, one of which was returned for a touchdown.

The fourth-year cornerback reclaimed the third corner job when veteran Nnamdi Asomugha came up with a sore knee last week, and played to the level that will make it hard for anyone to imagine him giving it up anytime soon.

Like Asomugha, he’s in a contract year, but is still ascending as a player, which will interest the 49ers and many others.
